Even Notes

Real-time notes for Even G2 smart glasses with a web admin panel

Full-stack prototype that lets a user create text, image, and hand-drawn sketch notes on a web dashboard and view them live on Even G2 smart glasses. Updates sync in real time through WebSockets and render on the device via the Even Hub SDK.

  • Node.js
  • Express
  • WebSocket
  • TypeScript
  • Vite
  • Even Hub SDK

How it works

From a browser note to the Even G2 display

The prototype bridges a comfortable authoring surface and a constrained wearable display, with realtime synchronization and graceful fallback when rich media cannot render.

Step 1 of 4 · TypeScript · Vite · Canvas

A user creates and prioritizes content in the dashboard

The browser admin supports text notes, uploaded images, hand-drawn sketches, pinning, ordering, and deletion. It provides a full-size surface for work that would be awkward on glasses.

What moves forward A normalized note with content type, order, and display metadata.

Step 2 of 4 · Browser Canvas · Image pipeline

Rich media is adapted before it reaches the wearable

Canvas-based preprocessing downsizes and converts images and sketches for the device constraints, while preserving a text representation that can be used if image rendering fails.

What moves forward Device-ready content plus a graceful text fallback.

Step 3 of 4 · Express · REST · WebSocket

The backend stores and broadcasts every change

The admin sends REST mutations to the Express API. The backend updates its note store and broadcasts the current state over WebSocket to browser previews and connected glasses runtimes.

What moves forward A realtime note update delivered to every connected client.

Step 4 of 4 · Even Hub SDK · Even G2

The glasses runtime renders a wearable-first view

The Vite glasses app receives updates, presents a paginated list and detail view, and uses the Even Hub SDK bridge to push content to the Even G2 hardware.

What moves forward The selected note visible on the glasses without manual refresh.

Capabilities

Author content on a web dashboard and see it appear on smart glasses instantly.
Support for rich content
text notes, uploaded images, and hand-drawn sketches.
Paginated navigation and detail views designed for the constrained glasses display.
Image preprocessing pipeline handles downscaling and format conversion client-side.
Fallback logic
if image rendering fails on device, gracefully degrades to text mode.
